Java Developer

We are currently seeking driven and talented Java Developers to support web development initiatives on a Government IT Project. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical and communication skills with experience in the following areas: Java (JSP & Servlets), J2EE and Rational tools. This position is located in Ashburn, Virginia. Additional roles and responsibilities include:

  • Web development using JAVA.
  • Programming in JSP, Java, Servlets, JDBC, J2EE using Rational Application Developer / WebSphere Studio Application Developer.
  • Programming in SQL (Oracle preferred) and writing stored procedures.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering is required.
  • 3+ years professional experience programming in Java and J2EE is required.
  • Experience designing, coding, testing, debugging, installation and maintenance of diverse and evolving applications is required.
  • Web development using AJAX is preferred.
  • Strong skills and experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript and Javascript event handling is required.
  • Programming in JSP, J2EE, Servlets, Struts, Tiles and JSTL is required.
  • Experience working with large RDBMS (Oracle is strongly preferred) and experience in SQL - writing stored procedures is required. 
  • Experience using WebSphere application developer tools is strongly preferred.
  • Experience using and customizing Oracle-ATG is strongly preferred.

Skills:

  • Experience in developing e-Commerce and related systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented.

Systems Engineer

We are looking for a candidate who can  identify, analyze, define and coordinate user, customer and stakeholder needs and translate them into technical requirements.  Provide conceptual design, prototype, and test cycles for a technical solution.  Identify and manage dependencies on other systems and elements of the IT structure.   Identify potential environmental impacts on systems.  Develop and implement test plans for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and customer developed systems.  Ensure deliverables meet all relevant quality and security standards

Experience & Skills:

A good candidate will have the following skills and experience: 

  • Understand systems, systems diagrams, and have the ability to fill in gaps
  • Possess creative and critical thinking skills when making assumptions, creating options within systems inside and outside of their constraints
  • Understand linkages between systems
  • Have the ability to understand a complete and coherent picture of systems and business processes
  • Are highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint;  proficiency  in MS Visio is a plus
  • Be an outstanding communicator to all levels of customers
  • Be able to multi-task in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities:

Responsible for researching the design, planning, developing, and evaluating advanced network technologies by translating customer requirements or strategic business objectives into a final product design for projects of the highest complexity and technologies.  Consult with customer to further clarify needs and engineer high-speed technology network transports to deliver application functionality.
